Colchester County complaint

An abuse complaint has been made against a Colchester County animal auction facility.

People with the animal rights group Nova Scotia Farm Animal Save have been protesting outside the Atlantic Stockyards in Murray Siding on auction days since the fall.

The complaint is due to a video by a Halifax woman which allegedly shows a worker prodding a cow with a cane as it is being loaded onto a truck at the stockyards near Truro.

Stockyard owner Sean Firth disagrees that any abuse took place and that he has an open-door policy for authorities related to animal protection.
