The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce has singled out tax reform as a need in the next Nova Scotia budget. It suggests increasing the basic personal exemption, which is one of the lowest in Canada. The realignment of small-business and corporate tax rates to allow more profit go to job creation was also mentioned. The chamber supports the McNeil government’s commitment to the pillars of the Atlantic Growth Strategy.
