Work to rule didn’t stop Hawaii trip

Teachers are underfire for traveling to professional development conferences, including one in Hawaii, despite their work to rule campaign…and that’s come under fire from the Education Minister.

Karen Casey was reacting to a CBC report that 11 teachers went to Hawaii last week with the permission of the Teachers Union. Casey pointed  out all extracurricular activities for students have been cancelled. Although these trips were approved prior to the job action, she doesn’t understand how the union can defend them.
