Three Drivers Sent to Hospital in North Sydney Harness Racing Crash

Three drivers were sent to hospital as the harness racing season came to a terrifying close at Northside Downs in North Sydney on Saturday afternoon. Three horses came together in a frightening crash in the fourth race of the nine-dash card. Drivers Danny Campbell, Roddy Hurley and John Beaton were injured in the collision and taken to hospital. According to a release by Standard-bred-canada, Campbell suffered three hairline cracks to his hip and was undergoing x-rays on his back. Hurley suffered a concussion and was later released; while John Beaton was reportedly airlifted to a Halifax hospital with undisclosed injuries. The horses involved in the collision suffered only minor injuries.
