New cyberbullying legislation will be introduced this fall to replace the previous act struck down by the Supreme Court because it infringed on people’s rights, the Rehtaeh Parsons law. It comes after news this week of three suicides caused by bullying in Cape Breton.
Premier Stephen McNeil said, besides the new law; he thinks there needs to be a broader public conversation about how people interact online. He added that some of the things people say to each other online would never be allowed to pass in the home or workplace.
