One person is dead after house fire in Napan on Saturday. Firefighter responded to the scene on Weldfield Road, about 10km from Miramichi, around 5am. RCMP says a body was found inside the the home. Police say an autopsy will be performed and the investigation is ongoing.

Legislation to give municipalities more power
The Gallant Government is set to introduce new legislation giving municipalities more power.
Legislation will be tabled this week to modernize the Municipalities Act and Community Planning Act. It will give local governments more flexibility and greater autonomy especially when it comes to economic development and job creation.
