A fire north of Sydney has left a family of three homeless. The fire broke out at a bungalow on highway 28 in Victoria Mines early Saturday afternoon. The home suffered extensive damage but no one was injured. The young couple who lived at the home and their 10 month old son are currently receiving assistance from the red cross.

Dartmouth Stabbing may be Random Act
One man is fighting for his life after stabbing in Dartmouth on Saturday. Halifax Police say the stabbing occurred on a path between Albro Lake Road and Farrell Street shortly after 1pm. The victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say it’s not clear if the victim and suspect were known to each other but right now Police are saying it appears to be a random act. Police are still looking for the suspect, described as a short black male. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
