Stats Can puts the amount of Nova Scotians without a family doctor at over 106,000. The Health Authority recently said 25,000 people reported not having one. The Stats Can numbers are from 2015 data, and, at 11.3% of Nova Scotians, do put us below the national average of 16.8%. Health Minister Leo Glavine says more new-doctor announcements will happen in the coming weeks.

McNeil approval rating ranks sixth among premiers: Angus Reid poll
A new survey has Stephen McNeil’s approval rating tied for sixth overall among Canada’s premiers. The Angus Reid poll says 27% of Nova Scotians approve of the job he’s doing, tied with New Brunswick’s Brian Gallant. Saskatchewan’s Brad Wall tops the list at 52%, with Ontario’s Kathleen Wynne in last at 12%.
