More seniors, low-income homeowners and people with disabilities in Nova Scotia will be able to stay in their home longer thanks to improvements to home repair and adaptation programs. Housing Nova Scotia and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation are investing $7.8 million for more access to affordable housing, and supporting independent living.

Family doctors waiting on late payments under CCIP
Hundreds of family doctors in the province are late getting paid for services under the Comprehensive Care Incentive Program. House calls, nursing home visits and more have been done, with Doctors Nova Scotia telling CBC the average delayed payment is $10,000 per year. The Department of Health and Wellness says paperwork for the new contract is the issue, and they’ll be paid soon.
