Submissions are now being taken for the 2017 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines. The Winery Association of Nova Scotia and Taste of Nova Scotia will ask member wineries to submit up to three grape wines for judging. Three winning wineries will be awarded in July.

$36,000 raised in Transition House fundraiser
On Saturday, April 8th at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre, the Transition House Foundation hosted the 16th Annual Girls’ Night Out. The Kentucky Derby-themed event sold out and raised more the $36,000 in support of the Transition House and its programs and services in the community.
The Transition House provides a safe-haven for women, and their children to escape unsafe or abusive home situations.
