A recreation master plan for CBRM has been approved. It comes after public and private meetings, and while some facility closures will eventually happen there’s nowhere specific in mind yet. The plan calls for reorganizing rec staff, and notes many parks and the like were built before amalgamation.

Impaired boating warning
The Lunenburg RCMP are reminding you about boating rules after a weekend patrol. They checked about 20 boats between Chester and Mahone Bay on Sunday, issuing six warnings for Liquor Control Act violations. Others didn’t have a valid licence, or not enough lifejackets. A Tancook Island man was arrested for impaired boating, and is due in court in September.
