Charges for a Sydney Mines man

A Sydney Mines man is being held in custody until a bail hearing at the end of next month on  a number of charges.

28 year old Eric Gordon Fraser is charged with possession of a stolen truck, dangerous driving, evading police, resisting arrest and breaching a court order.  This comes after incidents in Sydney and West Lake Ainslie on the 15th and 17th.

CBRM and second cruise ship terminal

CBRM might have to expropriate land for a second cruise ship terminal.

Funding has already been announced by all three levels of government for the $20 million project.

Now council has to decide where the dock should go.  The preferred location is to the north of the existing docks, but that would require  acquisition of property owed by businessman Jerry Nickerson.

Mayor Cecil Clarke told the Cape Breton Post they are still in the design phase.  If they can’t reach an agreement with Nickerson on price, then they may have to go the expropriation route.
