CBRM and second cruise ship terminal

CBRM might have to expropriate land for a second cruise ship terminal.

Funding has already been announced by all three levels of government for the $20 million project.

Now council has to decide where the dock should go.  The preferred location is to the north of the existing docks, but that would require  acquisition of property owed by businessman Jerry Nickerson.

Mayor Cecil Clarke told the Cape Breton Post they are still in the design phase.  If they can’t reach an agreement with Nickerson on price, then they may have to go the expropriation route.
