Northside East Bay sex crime

A singer-songwriter has pleaded guilty to sexual interference with a boy under 16.  Other charges were dropped against 22 year old Johnathan Stephen MacInnis of Northside East Bay in court yesterday.

A statement of facts entered in court said MacInnis and the bioy who was 14 or 15 at the time committed sexual acts once at his office and another time at his home.  Other people viewed inappropriate messages on Facebook and called police.

MacInnis will be sentenced next week.

More promises on the campaign trail.

Stephen McNeil says a pre-primary school program could help save parents up to 10-thousand dollars a year in day care costs.  His Liberals unveiled a plan for the program for four-year-olds to encourage speaking, socializing and listening skills.

Progressive Conservative Leader Jamie Baillie says the Tories will adddress doctor shortages by spending 13.5 million dollars over four years to recruit more physicians to work in underserviced areas.  He would also double the tuition relief program to keep new family doctors in the province.

The NDP’s Gary Burrill says if he’s elected premier there’d be an end to over-crowding in emergency departments.  The party would work with doctors, nurses, other health professionals and communities to deliver appropriate care.
