A Gary Burrill government would reinstate a $23 million film tax credit. The NDP also plans to invest another $10 million this year to help the industry, which Burrill said was “decimated” by the McNeil government when the credit was scrapped.

Drug charges after vehicle stop, residence search
Two Dominion men were in Sydney Provincial Court today facing drug charges, after a police search of a home on Neville Street.
Members of the Cape Breton Regional Police Street Crime Unit and RCMP Drug Section arrested the two in a vehicle stop on King Street yesterday evening, and later executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at the Neville Street residence. Police seized a large quantity of cocaine, marihuana, hash and other drug paraphernalia.
Tanner Pickup (19) and Allan Joseph Parsons (20) face several drug related charges.
