Only Two Teams Remain in AUS Men’s Volleyball Conference

It won’t be hard to predict who will play in the finals of the AUS Men’s Volleyball Championship this year. Memorial University has cut its men’s volleyball program for 2017, leaving Dalhousie and UNB as the only two teams in the conference. The AUS has waived its rule requiring three teams to compete for the upcoming year while it searches for a solution. For the upcoming season the two Atlantic teams will play nine of their 15 scheduled games against teams from Quebec.

NSGEU and Province Schedule New Talks

The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union says it will be returning to talks with the province early next month for its civil service bargaining unit. Talks have been scheduled for August 8th and 9th between the two parties, which are the same days originally set for a hearing at the labour board requesting an arbitrator. The union voted 94 per cent against the most recent tentative agreement in December. Two months ago, the union announced it was filing for arbitration after talks with the province had reached an impasse
