The 2017 New Brunswick fishing season opens on Saturday. Rivers and brooks will be open then, with more northern brooks on May 1st. Lakes open May 1st in the south and May 15th in the north. Licences can be bought online, and at Service New Brunswick locations and private vendors.

Province, Crown attorneys sign new deal
The province and its Crown prosecutors have signed a collective agreement. The group includes 63 Crown prosecutors and family Crown counsel at the Office of the Attorney General. The 5 1/2-year contract includes general economic increases of 4.8%, and an adjustment tied to discontinuing the retirement allowance benefit.
