UNB, Parks Canada team for summer program at Fortress Louisbourg

UNB and Parks Canada have teamed up to offer a bioarchaeology field program in Cape Breton this summer.  It’ll document, protect and preserve 18th-century burial grounds at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, which are threatened by coastal erosion.  Students will help provide new insights into the population’s health and well-being during an important period in Canada’s history.

Norton couple facing more contraband-related charges

A Norton couple face more contraband tobacco-related charges.  Guy and Pamela Newcomb were charged last summer with having unstamped cigarettes for sale and marijuana for trafficking.  Now they also face more charges related to cigarettes.  They’re due back in court for the new charges June 12th, with the trial for the others set for later that month.
