President Barack Obama is warning Donald Trump that actions typically create reactions.

Obama was speaking to reporters at his final news conference from the White House but seemed to be speaking to one person in particular. Obama said he expects the new president will test assumptions on various matters but also warned that there will be consequences. In particular, he noted Trump’s plan to move the U-S embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in Israel, which could have explosive results.

In the NHL…Canadiens lost 4-1 to the Penguins.  Oilers beat the Panthers 4-3 in overtime.  Jets doubled the Coyotes 6-3.

In the NBA…the Raptors lost 94-89 to Philadelphia.

Milos Raonic beat Gilles Muller in straight sets to move into the third round at the Australian Open.

Former Expos outfielder Tim Raines has finally been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his tenth and final year of eligibility.
