The head of the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Louise Bradley, is applauding some provinces, including Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, which have signed individual health funding announcements with the federal government. Saskatchewan is the latest to sign a separate agreement.

Louise Bradley says people are dying while other jurisdictions hold out for a better deal.  Thoe holdouts are the big three Ontario, Quebec and B-C.

An avalanche has buried a four-star mountain hotel in an earthquake-hit region of central Italy, leaving at least 30 people missing.

Several strong quakes hit the Abruzzo region yesterday but it’s not clear if the temors triggered the snowslide which buried the three-storey Hotel Rigopiano, near the coastal city of Pescara .
