A working group has been announced to provide recommendations for legalized marijuana. Senior officials from the departments of Justice and Public Safety, Health and Finance, as well as NB Liquor and Opportunities NB will look at a model for distribution and retail, and release an interim report in the summer. The Gallant government will also introduce a motion to establish a select Legislature committee to study the issue.

Dog shot
A 22 year old Saint John man is facing charges after a dog was shot in the woods in the Kennebecasis Valley. Zachary Shayne Wright was arraigned in court yesterday.
Police say the incident happened Saturday after the man was involved in an accident near the Doland Road Irving. The man was seen by witnesses going into the woods with a dog and gun and coming out without the dog.
Police say during their investigation they found a handgun on the man and a BB gun in the snow as well as some drugs. Then they found the dog with a gunshot wound. He is now recovering well after being treated by a Vet.
