NB River Watch begins Monday

The New Brunswick River Watch program will officially start on Monday. It’ll give you information on the status of rivers, potential ice jams, and other flood issues over the coming weeks. Ice jams in the Tobique, St. John, Kennebecasis and Hammond rivers are already being monitored.  You can learn more at gnb.ca/riverwatch.

Family rescued from woods

A family of three was rescued from the woods near Lake Utopia early yesterday.

RCMP say the couple and their young son got stranded when their vehicle broke down in a heavily-wooded area. The driver called 911 around 11:00 Tuesday night for help. Ground search and rescue teams were called out.

The man, woman and boy under 10 were found around 4:00 in the morning walking along a trail in a very remote area near route 785. None of them were hurt…just a little cold and thankful at being found.
