You may notice something diferent about the uniforms of some RCMP officers.
They have joined protests across the country for higher pay by covering up the yellow stripe on the side of their uniform tactical pants. They’re wearing plain black pants…some are using a pink stripe.
The force said the move by some officers could come with penalties under the RCMP code of conduct.
The CBC is apologizing for leaving Port Royal out of its docudrama “Canada: The Story of Us”.
The first episode asserted the first permanent Euiropean settlement in Canada was Quebec City while Port Royal in the Annapolis Valley was settled three years earlier.
CBC spokesman Chuck Thompson issued a statement saying people are bound to have different points of view on Canada’s history, but the national broadcaster didn’t intend to offend anyone and is open to feedback. He added they won’t be changing the show but they are planning to host live digital conversations about it.
