The Leafs are out…eliminated by Washington 2-1 in overtime in game 6. The Bruins are also out as the Senators advanced with a 3-2 overtime win in their game 6.
On the diamonds…the Blue Jays beat the Angels 6-2. Red Sox downed the Orioles 6-2. Yankees lost 2-1 to the Pirates.
In the NBL…the Highlanders nipped the Riptide 91-89.
In the NBA playoffs…the Celtics are back in it beating the Bulls 104-95 and tying their series at two games each.
The building boom in Moncton is continuing. The City of Moncton says the total value of building permits for the first quarter of this year, from January 1st to March 31st, came in at 60.8 million-dollars up from 42 million-dollars worth of construction over the same quarter of last year. The total number of building permits issued also rose from 146 in 2016 to 162 during the first quarter of 2017. The largest developments issued permits during the quarter include the 18-million-dollar expansion of Organigram, the five-five-queen condo project and a new 55-unit apartment building on Diamond Head Court.
