RCMP trial

An RCMP expert in tactical operations testified again yesterday at the force’s trial in Moncton on labour code charges.

Superintendent Bruce Stuart told the court he expressed his concerns to management about the role finances were playing in deploying C-8 carbine rifles. Stuart contributed to a threat risk assessment to determine how many rifles were needed and which divisions needed them most. But he says top brass was concerned about the cost.

NB getting a Family Day

New Brunswick will have a February holiday next year…Family Day.

The Gallant Government has announced the paid public holiday for the third Monday in February.  Most of the country already has a February holiday and now New Brunswick will come up to the national average of 8 paid holidays a year.

Some small business owners are expressing concerns though about the expense for them.
