River up to flood levels again

EMO is keeping a close eye on the St. John River and warning residents to do the same.

The rain we’ve been getting this week, with more on the way for the weekend, means people should stay alert.

Water levels are at or above flood level along many stretches of the river. Water has been pouring over the road at several places on Highway 105 in the Mauderrvgille area.

EMO is also advising residents of Saint-Jacques to move valuable belongings from basements to higher levels in their homes because of increased water levels of the Madawaska River.

Call centre worker arrested after threats

A 42 year old call centre worker is facing charges after threats were made earlier this week.

Police were called Tuesday about threats on social media against coworkers made by an employee of the Sitel call centre Monday evening. When he arrived for work Tuesday morning, police were waiting and took him into custody.

The investigation continues.
