Tour de Sussex

First annual “Ellen’s Tour de Sussex” cycling event is welcoming over 200 cycling enthusiasts to the Sussex Region this weekend!
Cyclists will be riding one of three scenic Kings County tours of either 20, 60 or 100km. The routes all start and finish at the 8th Hussars Sports Center beginning at 9am today. Once the ride is complete, the celebration begins at Leonard’s Gate in downtown Sussex around 4.
This event is in memory of Ellen Watter’s, who tragically passed away in December 2016 after being struck by a vehicle while on a training in Sussex. Since then, the Province of New Brunswick has passed “Ellen’s Law”, stating that motorists must give cyclists at least 1 meter when passing.

Phoenix Pay System

The feds will spend 142 million dollars of taxpayers money over two years to hire more workers at the Miramichi Pay Center.

Pay transactions have backed up under the new Phoenix system, leaving tens of thousands of public servants underpaid; overpaid or not paid at all.

There are about 600 people working at the Miramichi centre right now.
