Disappointment over Moosehead cancelling waterfront brewery

Plans are moving ahead on the proposed waterfront development project despite the loss of the Moosehead craft brewery. Moosehead decided setting up a small brewery on the waterfront with a brew pub was not financially feasible.

Kent MacIntyre, general manager of Saint John Waterfront Development Corporation, told the Telegraph-Journal the proposed brewery wasn’t really part of the proposed multi-million development but would have been adjacant to it and a benefit. MacIntyre isn’t saying much about the proposal because of a confidentiality agreement with the developer at the former Coast Guard site.

Conservative leadership race

Tory leadership candidate Lisa Raitt is taking aim at two of her rivals in particular in her latest speech.

Raitt says she’s confident Canadians will return the Conservatives to power if they select a principled leader with sensible policies. She slammed Kellie Leitch for embracing Donald Trumps philosophy and potential candidate celebrity businessman Kevin O’Leary, of Shark Tank, as a TV entertainer with no filter.
