If you’re planning your own Canada Day fireworks, make sure you have a licence to set them off in Saint John. The city requires one that you can apply for, and you could get fined if you don’t get it. Elsewhere locally you’ll be fine if you adhere to guidelines: no licence necessary in Quispamsis, Rothesay or Grand Bay-Westfield.

$150,000 in provincial funding has been announced for downtown Riverview. Honouring Canada 150, improvements include electrical infrastructure on the riverfront trail; benches, accessible dual binoculars and bike racks; artistic and cultural interpretive structures; a mural and historical interpretive signage; and the opening of the Chocolate River Café & Resto, a coffee shop that will operate out of a shipping container.
