It’s by-election day in Moncton’s Ward 4.
Four candidates are running to replace the late Rene “Pepsi” Landry who passed away recently.
Polls are open from 10:00am to 8:00pm and voters can cast their ballots at three polling stations or the returning office on King Street. More than 700 votes have already been cast in advance polls.
A PEI-based company has added another Moncton hotel to its portfollio.
The Charlottetown Guardian is reporting that D.P. Murphy Hotels and Resorts has purchased the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Moncton. The same company also recently purchased the Quality Inn in Dieppe and now boasts four hotels in the Moncton area…and 11 properties in eastern Canada along with a number of Tim Hortons and Wendy’s franchises.
