Fire yesterday morning destroyed a house and vehicles near Woodstock.
Nobody was home at the time and the family dog managed to escape unhurt. The blaze has been deemed suspicious and the investigation continues. There was another suspicious fire not far away from this one Thursday night.
A New Brunswick man has been found guilty in court in Quebec for his part in stealing almost $19 million worth of maple syrup.
Etienne Saint-Pierre of Kedgwick was one of four men accused in relation to the theft of 9,500 barrels of maple syrup from the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers in 2011 and 2012. Five others charged in the case go to trial in January.
