Thousands of teachers and other union members rallied outside Province House yesterday evening to support the teachers.
They carried signs that read Negotiate Don’t Dictate, Respect The Profession and Let Teachers Teach.
Premier McNeil is defending the decision to cancel clases Monday because of safety concerns calling it the only option. The premier says there is no current plan to bring back the bill to impose a contract on teachers but he did confirm it was the same contract the teachers rejected previously.
