A 14-year-old boy has been charged following the alleged sexual assault of a senior on a public trail in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley. R-C-M-P Corporal Jennifer Clarke says the woman was alone on the trail in East Kingston at about two yesterday afternoon when a youth approached her as he was masturbating. She says the teen pushed her down and sexually assaulted her, but she managed to get away. The 14-year-old boy faces sexual assault and assault, and is due back in youth court January 26th.

Rally in NB today for ‘Ellen’s Law’
A rally will be held today to push for “Ellen’s Law” in New Brunswick. The rally is being organized by friends and family of competitive cyclist Ellen Watters. Watters died on Wednesday as a result of injuries she sustained after being struck by a vehicle while training on her bike near Sussex on December 23rd. The rally is is being held to push New Brunswick to enact a one-metre rule for motorists, which is already legislated in other provinces.
