Mining Training Centre Announced for Bathurst CCNB
The New Brunswick government says it’s spending 1.3 million dollars to help establish Atlantic Canada’s first specialized training centre for the mining and drilling sectors. The centre will be headquartered at the C-C-N-B’s Bathurst campus. The province says the money will go toward purchasing heavy-equipment simulators, hiring training experts and other costs including those for maintenance and site preparation. C-C-N-B president and C-E-O Liane Roy says the mining industry’s workforce is getting older and a new generation of workers needs to be trained.
