CBRM demolition order

CBRM has ordered Sylvia Dolomont’s house to be demolished in North Sydney.

Dolomont admits she is a hoarder and the house on Campbell Street is stuffed to the rafters with furniture, clothing and household items, so much so she can’t even live there anymore; according to the CBC.  But the city says it’s also full of rotting garbage, animal waste and mould; so it’s been declared a hazard and will be torn down.

Dolomont has been given 30 days to clean it out or it’ll be demolished. She says she’ll sue…the house is appraised at $186,000.

Temporary bridge

A temporary bridge will be open soon on Horne’s Road connecting Mira Gut with Sydney and Albert Bridge.

The old bridge was washed out in the Thanksgiving Day flood. While they are putting in a temporary one lane bridge for now, a permanent replacement will be at least a year or more.  The temporary bridge should be open by the end of next week.
