A 52-year-old man has been arrested after a Friday night robbery on Lacewood Drive. Police say they were called to the Smoke Shop store on Lacewood around 8:30pm. A man had entered the store and demanded money from an employee. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area in a taxi. Police arrested the 52-year-old man a short time later on the Bedford highway near the Windsor Street Exchange.

Two RCMP Officers Injured Trying to Arrest Man with Knife in Moncton
Two RCMP officers were injured Friday night while trying to arrest a man who entered a restaurant with a knife. The Times and Transcript is reporting that the man entered the Greco Restaurant on Killam Drive in Moncton shortly before midnight. RCMP say the man with the knife was asking for help and did not appear to be trying to rob the restaurant. Two officers were injured while trying to arrest the man. They were treated in hospital and later released. The suspect also received received minor injuries during the incident. Police say the suspect may have been suffering from a pre-existing mental health condition and remains in hospital.
