Police are investigating a home invasion yesterday morning in Spryfield. They say two masked men broke down an Autumn Drive residence door around 3am, and stole money and drugs. The suspects were between 5’9″ and 6′ tall, and wore black coats.

United Way’s Winter Gala raises even more money than 2016 event
Saturday’s second annual United Way Cape Breton Winter Gala raised $254,398. That surpassed last year’s $240,000 total. The sold-out event at Centre 200 will see 80% of proceeds go toward current child poverty reduction programs, and the rest for new ones.
