A petition is out calling for the Bathurst police officers involved in Michel Vienneau’s death to be tried.
A preliminary inquiry was ruled to not prove the manslaughter case against Patrick Bulger and Mathieu Boudreau, but information from it hasn’t been released.
You can sign the petition at Tazza Caffe and Liaisons Electroniques in Tracadie, with the Northern Light reporting a plan to bring it to Attorney General Serge Rousselle’s office.
Jonah Furlotte and Riley Bernard of the Lorne area, were both given a 12-month conditional discharge with probation banning them from contact with either victim.
One victim was leaving a Halloween dance at the Lorne hall in October of 2015, when he was jumped by Bernard and Furlotte in the parking lot.
A friend of the victim came to his aid but was also assaulted.
Furlotte and Bernard pleaded guilty to two counts of assault.
