NB robotics program

About 800 of Canada’s brightest high school students are given a chance to explore their potential at a month-long program known as Shad, that; according to The Canadian Press.

About 80 of the students are at UNB inFredericton where they’re involved in a competition to build and program a robot.

More than 16-thousand teens have gone through the program since 1980, including 32 who went on to become Rhodes Scholars.

Island “Pocketalkers” program

Some Island lawyers now have a tool to help them better communicate with people who have hearing loss.

The P.E.I. Chapter of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association has handed out 10 assistive listening devices to interested lawyers.

The “Pocketalkers” allow a person to wear a headset, and amplify a person’s voice.
