New Brunswick’s unemployment rate went down a bit in March. Stats Can has it at 8.4%, from 8.9% in February. The province is ahead of Nova Scotia at 8.6% unemployment, PEI at 10.1%, and Newfoundland and Labrador at 14.9%. The national number is 6.7%.

High rise explosion sends two to hospital
Two men were injured in an explosion in the basement of a downtown highrise in Moncton.
The two were working at the Lions Tower, near Vaughn Harvey and St. George Streets, when there was a loud bang in the basement. Both men were taken to hospital…one with minor injuries…but the other was more serious. Resident were only evacuated briefly.
Nobody else was hurt and fire officials aren’t saying just what happened. WorkSafe New Brunswick is also investigating.
