Horizon Health and the New Brunswick Heart Centre are notifying open heart surgery patients about a potential, but very low infection risk. A device used to heat and cool blood during those surgeries, of which the centre has three, has been linked to a rare bacterial infection. Preliminary tests were positive, but after being worked on they’ve been negative. People who underwent the procedure between November 2012 and November 2016 have a less than one in 1000 infection risk.

Missing man Daniel Costain
The Codiac Regional RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing man. 54-year-old Daniel Costain was last seen on April 16, 2017 in Moncton at the Maritime Bus depot. He was reported missing to the RCMP on April 17. It is believed he may be travelling to Montreal or Ottawa.
Daniel Costain is described as 6′ tall, weighing approximately 150 lbs, with short blond hair. The last time he was seen he was wearing blue jeans, sneakers and a black and blue jacket.
