The Labour Minister and Campbellton-Dalhousie MLA is there for a national immigration summit, where he’s touching on how New Brunswick plans to attract and keep newcomers. His meeting with Canadian Blood Services’ CEO will cover the upcoming closures of mobile donor clinics in Campbellton and Dalhousie.

If RCMP had been armed with carbines during Justin Bourque’s shooting spree, lives could have been saved according to one of the Mounties who responded that night.
Constable Mathieu Daigle testified Bouque could have shot one officer…but not the others. Daigle said he spotted Bourque near a wooded area less than 100 metres away which was beyond the effective range of his duty pistol…but Daigle testified with a carbine rifle he would have been well within range. Daigle said he had training in the military previously on the using the C-7 model of semi-automatic rifle.
