Six people have been displaced by a fire in a Moncton duplex…but nobody was hurt. A couple and their 20 month old son in one unit and woman and her two children from the other are staying with relatives for now after the blaze caused extensive damage to the duplex on Broadway Street. The Red Cross is helping with emergency supplies and says repairs will take several weeks.

Province and Ottawa to Study Ticks in NB
The provincial and federal governments are partnering to enhance field surveillance and tick collection over two years. The geographic range of blacklegged ticks, which can transmit Lyme disease, has been expanding, so they’ll look at where. Grand Manan, Grand Bay-Westfield, Saint John, Rothesay, Quispamsis, St. Stephen, Saint Andrews and St. George are among targeted areas.
