Grand Theft Auto…for real on an Ontario highway.
Police took an 11 year old boy into custody after chasing him down a highway north of Toronto, hitting speeds of 120kph. Police say the boy had been playing Grand Theft Auto on his game console and wanted to see what it was like to drive a real car…even hitting the gas when police first tried to pull him over. Officers took him him to his parents.
The underdog Red Blacks won the Grey Cup with a 39-33 victory in overtime…the Stampeders were heavily favoured. Henry Burris was named most valuable player throwing for three touchedowns and running in two on his own.
In the Q-League….Mooseheads shut down the Wildcats 3-0 in Halifax.
MHL action the Commandos downed Truro Bearcats 4-1.
In the NHL…Bruins downed the Lightning 4-1. Senators shut down the Rangers 2-0. Jets blanked the Predators 3-0. Flyers doused the Flames 5-3. Coyotes clipped the Oilers 2-1.
In the NFL…Patriots beat the Jets 22-17. and Kansas City won the late game 30-27 over the Broncos in overtime.
