Fire Closes Moncton Sports Dome Closed

A fire last night has forced the Moncton Sports Dome to close its doors. Firefighters responded to the blaze in the office section of the multi-purpose indoor sports facility on Russ Howard Drive around 9pm. The Times and Transcript is reporting that the fire was limited to the offices, located in a mini-home in front of the facility, and that the sports dome itself was not damaged. Dome officials closed the facility for today and it’s unclear when it will reopen.

Friday night was a lucky one for two lotto ticket holders in New Brunswick. The Atlantic Lottery Corporation says a pair of winning tickets were sold in New Brunswick as part of the Lotto Max draw. Someone in Mirimacihi is matched all the winning numbers in the twist portion of the draw, winning 107-thousand-dollars. A second ticket matching all 6 TAG numbers of Friday’s nights draw, was sold somewhere in Northumberland County. That ticket is worth 100-thousand-dollars.
