Today from 9am to 7pm at the Rodd Miramichi, Pat Finnigan; the M.P. for Miramichi-Grand Lake, will host an information session on “How to Apply for Jobs Within the Federal Government.”
Presentations will be held in both French and English, Service Canada; the Public Service Pay Centre, Firearms Program; Correctional Services, Fisheries and Oceans; and Parks Canada, will have information booths.
A Miramichi councillor is questioning six members going to a summer conference in Ottawa. The Federation of Canadian Municipalities is holding meetings, with about $22,500 going to Mayor Adam Lordon, Deputy Mayor Brian King and four others’ attendance. While acknowledging it’s within travel expenses, Shelly Williams wondered about the amount of people being sent for this kind of event.
