NB carbon pricing could affect your cost of living

The provincial government is mulling over a scheme that could take more money out of your wallet.

Serge Rousselle, the Environment and Local Government minister; confirms that they paid a company known as Navius 40 thousand dollars last year, and they will cough up yet another 70 thousand this year to look at options the province has to put in place regarding a price on carbon.

That’s because the Trudeau liberals have dictated that all Canadian jurisdictions must have carbon pricing in place by 2018.

Sports honours for two from Miramichi

Ernest Quigley, who passed away in 1960; and Paula Keating, both of Miramich, have been inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame.

Quigley got the nod for his work involving coaching and refereeing baseball, basketball; and football.

Keating is an accomplished marathon runner, who is also a member of the RunNB and the Miramichi Sports Wall of Fame.
