Provincial taxpayers will provide 33 million dollars over the next year for roadwork in the Miramichi.
It includes various projects for the Centennial Bridge, Routes 108; 117, 420; 430, 8; and 11; Miramichi River Bridge Number 2 in Blackville, the Anderson Bridge and the Glenwood-Miramichi bypass.
A New Brunswick fire chief says three people are lucky to be alive following a dramatic water rescue.
Jody Price of the Oromocto fire department says crews were called to Wilsey Road at around 1:30 Friday morning after a vehicle landed upside down in a ditch full of water.
Two people managed to get out of the vehicle, but firefighters had to rescue one person and two dogs trapped inside.
All three people were taken to hospital, and firefighters took the dogs to their home.
