Marissa Shephard has been given four months in jail for assaulting a guard. She pleaded guilty to last July’s incident at the New Brunswick Women’s Correctional Centre in Miramichi. She’s there awaiting a preliminary inquiry for first-degree murder and arson in the 2015 death of Baylee Wylie.

Early closure for ice fishing season in southern and northern New Brunswick
The provincial government has ordered all ice fishing shacks in southern New Brunswick off the ice, nearly three weeks ahead of schedule.
Due to deteriorating ice conditions, all shacks must be removed by Monday.
Fishermen in the northern part of the province have until March 20th, the previous deadline was March 31st.
