Horizon Health and the New Brunswick Heart Centre are notifying open heart surgery patients about a potential, but very low infection risk. A device used to heat and cool blood during those surgeries, of which the centre has three, has been linked to a rare bacterial infection. Preliminary tests were positive, but after being worked on they’ve been negative. People who underwent the procedure between November 2012 and November 2016 have a less than one in 1000 infection risk.

Centennial Bridge reminder
Miramichi police are reminding you that the Centennial Bridge will be down to one lane, from now until October.
Officers have increased both marked and unmarked patrols on that bridge and anyone found not stopping when the lights turn red will be facing a fine of just over 172 dollars and 3 demerit points.
